Days 0 - 1 Pre Cruise & Recife

Brazil's fourth-largest city, Recife sprawls over islands at the mouth of the Beberibe and Capibaribe rivers, earning it the nickname the "Venice of Brazil." Recife Antigo, the colonial old town on its own island, has colourful architecture. North of Recife is the UNESCO World Heritage town of Olinda, an 18th-century Portuguese sugarcane hub, now an artists' colony with Baroque churches amid bright houses built on steep hillsides.

Day 2 Day at sea

Sea days are rarely dull. Take the time to sit back and let the world go by. The ship’s observation decks provide stunning views of the passing ocean. A day at sea gives you the opportunity to mingle with other passengers and share your experiences of this incredible trip or head to our library which is stocked full of reference books. Get an expert’s view in one of our on-board lectures or perhaps perfect your photography skills with invaluable advice from our onboard professional photographers.

Day 3 Salvador de Bahia

With a rich Afro-Brazilian heritage, Salvador, the capital of Bahia, is a vibrant city where African and South American cultures blend. Salvador served as Brazil's first capital from 1549 to 1763, and its UNESCO-listed historic centre, Pelourinho, bursts with cobblestone streets and colourful colonial buildings. Jorge Amado, a beloved literary figure, is celebrated at his former home, now the museum A Casa do Rio Vermelho.

Day 4 Itacare

Itacaré, a charming coastal town in southern Bahia, has miles of pristine white sand beaches luring surfers and bodyboarders. The town's laidback charm is evident in its vibrant cobblestone streets which resonate with lively Afro-Brazilian beats pouring from local bars, complemented by the rhythmic movements of capoeira dancers showcasing their martial art skills. Artisan shops and eateries serving up diverse cuisines complete the scene.

Day 5 Trancoso

Trancoso, a tiny beach town, once a quaint fishing village near Praia do Espelho on Bahia's south coast, has transformed into a boho chic destination. Amid the lush Atlantic rainforest, eco-friendly pousadas and bohemian hotels now line its pristine beaches offering an idyllic retreat to relax and embrace the natural beauty of Brazil's northeastern coast surrounded by local flora and fauna.

Day 6 Abrolhos Archipelago

The Abrolhos Archipelago, comprises five islands within the Abrolhos Marine National Park, off Bahia. Only one island, Siriba, is open to visitors, offering rich biodiversity, extensive coral reefs and serving as a humpback whale breeding ground. It's also a habitat for leatherback and loggerhead sea turtles, as well as threatened bird species, such as masked and brown boobies, frigatebirds, red-billed tropicbirds, sooty terns and brown noddies.

Day 7 Day at sea

Sea days are rarely dull. Take the time to sit back and let the world go by. The ship’s observation decks provide stunning views of the passing ocean. A day at sea gives you the opportunity to mingle with other passengers and share your experiences of this incredible trip or head to our library which is stocked full of reference books. Get an expert’s view in one of our on-board lectures or perhaps perfect your photography skills with invaluable advice from our onboard professional photographers.

Day 8 Buzios

Known as the St. Tropez of Brazil, this fashionable resort town attracts Rio's wealthy with its 23 breathtaking beaches tucked into coves along the coastline. Once a quaint fishing village, it now boasts fancy shops, boutiques, excellent restaurants and a European vibe. Don't miss trying some of the signature caipirinha cocktails!

Day 9 Rio de Janeiro

Pulsating with energy, Rio de Janeiro wows with sensational beaches and a dazzling mountain backdrop cloaked in tropical forest. A cable car glides up Sugarloaf Mountain, while a cog train heads to Corcovado's peak and the towering Christ statue overlooking the city. Copacabana and Ipanema are perfect for lounging on the sand and people-watching. No visit is complete without a caipirinha cocktail amid Rio's lively bars with a carnival vibe.

Vega

Launched 2022
Maximum capacity 152

Launched in 2022, this state of the art ship has been designed to journey to off the beaten path destinations and remote polar regions in style and comfort. The ship incorporates a PC5 ice-strengthened hull combined with extra-large stabilisers to make your journey as smooth as possible.

Sophisticated Elegance. We know how important outdoor space is, so our spacious, relaxing public spaces provide wide open, unobstructed views throughout the ship. The destination will always be in view.

Your Wellbeing. The safety & happiness of our guests is paramount to our 120-strong crew on board as well as our passionate expedition team who'll be serving up thrilling shore excursions and lasting memories.

Cabin Types. Our 76 cabins including 6 suites have all the amenities you will need to feel comfortable including dressing gowns, hairdryers, personal safes and minibars. Our stylish cabins all have desks, a dressing area and comfy seating. En suite bathrooms all feature glass-enclosed rain showers.

Wheelchair access
Guests who use wheelchairs must bring their own, as we have only a small number of wheelchairs stored onboard for emergencies. To ensure ease of movement on the ship, wheelchairs and mobility aids must be no wider than 65cm. All mobility or medical equipment brought on board must be capable of being carried safely and must be declared before sailing. To ensure that all guests can safely evacuate during an emergency, guests requiring a wheelchair can only be accommodated in our ADA-accessible cabins.

We offer an Oceanview stateroom on Vega which is specifically designed to be completely ADA compliant and have a fully operable wheelchair-access wet unit.

Vega has two lifts, serving every passenger deck apart from the Stargazing top deck, which is, therefore, more difficult to access, as are the Aft Marina and Swan’s Nest forward observation platform. Also, we don’t have special equipment to access the swimming pool, jacuzzi, or sauna. Otherwise, the ship is entirely at your disposal.

Many of the expeditions ashore in remote places are by Zodiac. Boarding these boats and returning aboard can present challenges for wheelchair users, as can navigating uneven terrain. These challenges are by no means always insurmountable, though, and our highly experienced crew is trained to provide reliable advice and assistance. They will make every effort to ensure wheelchair-using guests enjoy a memorable experience at each destination. Our general guidance, however, is to recommend wheelchair users travel with a companion for their ease and enjoyment.

If you prefer to remain aboard, our panoramic interiors and ample open decks ensure an immersive, intimate experience of your inspiring surroundings.
